Worship Minister

 

Reports to:   Executive Pastor          

 

Position Status:   Full-Time, Exempt 

 

Purpose:  The Worship Minister is responsible for planning, administering, and supervising a comprehensive, active and Christ centered Worship Ministry. The person holding this position will be seeking spiritual growth for the church through worship, while working with church members and staff to achieve the church’s mission objective, “To Know Christ and Make Him Known to All People.” 

 

Job Skills and Requirements

  • A committed Christian and regular participant of First Baptist Church Garner focused on the goal of reaching the unsaved for Jesus Christ and making disciples
  • Responsible for fostering effective communication within the church organization
  • Ability to manage a consensus decision-making process
  • Timely and consistent attendance, and availability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems, audio, video, lighting, camera, and software
  • Ability to work in Planning Center and ProPresenter
  • B.A. Degree or higher in Ministry/Music with experience preferred

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Attend weekly staff meetings 
  • Meet with the Pastor to plan for worship services as needed
  • Oversee the entire Worship Ministry: worship choir, musicians, vocal teams, audio, lighting, stream team, camera volunteers
  • Plan weekly worship services: music, soloist, scripture for praise and worship, worship bumper videos, etc.
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate weekly rehearsals and schedules to entire worship team
  • Lead the Worship Choir and Band
  • Coordinate with individual ministries for worship needs: Preschool, Kids, Students, Sr. Adults, etc
  • Recruit members to serve in the Worship Ministry and play instruments
  • Plan retreats, fellowships, and focused opportunities to serve through worship
  • Supervise the Worship Tech Director and meet regularly to evaluate, plan, and coordinate worship service’s needs: sound, streaming, lighting, and other A/V needs
  • Supervise Communications Director and meet regularly to advise concerning the plans for promotions of church events
  • Responsible for regular tuning and maintenance of pianos and all worship equipment
  • Maintain church Spotify playlist
  • Assist in funerals, weddings, and other church services as needed
  • Prepare annual budgets for the Worship Ministry and other designated budgets
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor
  • Maintain a growing personal walk with the Lord through Bible study and prayer, sharing the gospel, and supporting FBC Garner through Worship, Connect, Serve, and Giving 

 

 

Evaluation and Compensation

The Worship Minister reports directly to the Executive Pastor and will receive an annual performance review by the Executive Pastor.  The Worship Minister works with an understanding of the absolute necessity for continual communication and clearing of ideas and concerns with the Executive Pastor. Compensation is reviewed annually by the Executive Pastor and the Personnel team.

 

 

 


 

 

Children’s Minister

 

Reports to:   Executive Pastor          

 

Position Status:   Full-Time, Exempt 

 

Purpose:  The Children’s Minister is responsible for planning, administering, and supervising a comprehensive, active and Christ-centered fbcPRESCHOOL and fbcKIDS ministry. The person holding this position will be seeking spiritual growth for the children and families from

Birth – 5th  grade of the church, while working with church members and staff to achieve the church’s mission objective, “To Know Christ and Make Him Known to All People.” 

 

Job Skills and Requirements

  • A committed Christian and regular participant of First Baptist Church Garner focused on the goal of reaching the unsaved for Jesus Christ and making disciples
  • Can conceptualize the educational and spiritual needs of the children and verbalize the function of the job
  • Responsible for fostering effective communication within the church organization
  • Ability to manage a consensus decision-making process
  • Timely and consistent attendance, and availability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Degree in the field with experience preferred

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Meet regularly with the Executive Pastor
  • Enlist new leaders throughout the year
  • Build relationships with the children’s leaders
  • Plan leadership training
  • Observe security procedures to ensure the proper safety for all children and leaders
  • Set-up and have check-in desk manned weekly and on an as needed basis for events
  • Provide weekly Bible study opportunities for children
  • Coordinate weekly activities that will enhance Evangelism, Discipleship, Missions, Worship, and Special Events; provide the supplies needed
  • Form relationships with children from Birth - 5th  grade
  • Track attendance
  • Help plan and implement new ministries and outreaches for the Children’s Ministry
  • Communicate weekly with parents about upcoming activities and spiritual growth opportunities (i.e. Facebook group, email newsletter)
  • Help preview and choose appropriate discipleship material and update standing orders
  • Plan and organize children’s camp
  • VBS
  • Prepare an annual Children’s budget and work within its parameters
  • Give leadership to Weekday Preschool
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor
  • Maintain a growing personal walk with the Lord through Bible study and prayer, sharing the gospel, and supporting FBC Garner through Worship, Connect, Serve, and Giving
