"Whatever" Basketball League
Location: First Baptist Church Garner, Christian Life Center
It’s that time again! Registration begins on June 26th and runs through July 25th for High School and July 28th for Middle School. This league is for kids in the 6th – 12th grade during the 2011-2012 school year. The cost this year is $65 and we will have an end of season tournament. Evaluations for high school are July 25th at 7:00 p.m.; for middle school girls July 26th and middle school boys July 28th at 7:00 p.m. During the evaluations, there will be a parent meeting in the Christian Life Center classrooms to go over a few of the rules/expectations of the league and will last about 30 min. Practices begin the week of August 15th and games begin September 10th.
The season will at least go through Nov. 5th or possibly the following week to complete the tournament. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us in our UPWARD office at (919)772-1772 ext 215 and leave a message or by email at .
It is important for every player to come to evaluations. Please make an effort to have your child there and for at least one parent to stay for the meeting. Also, the registration fee needs to be paid at the time the form is submitted. This league is open to all kids, not just FBCG kids, so please bring a friend.
There will be a devotion each week to be discussed at practice. The devotions are not to be missed. We understand that sometimes a player may have to leave early; however, if a player decides they will practice and then leave before devotion just to avoid devotion, that player will not be allowed to play the first half of that Saturday’s game. If this becomes a habit, the player will be dismissed from the league. Our main objective in this league is to teach these kids about Jesus and then let them play basketball.
Please make sure that the shorts are fingertip length. Our dress code is to make sure all players are comfortable and is standard for the rest of church activities on our campus.
