Woman's Missionary Union (WMU)
What is Woman's Missionary Union? (WMU)
As a ministry of the church, WMU challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God. This radical involvement happens as WMU in a church leads people to experience missions personally through ministry and witness; to develop missions awareness, to support missions work through prayer and giving; and to nuture lifestyles that reflect commitment and to participate in the work of the church and denomination in obedience to the Great Commission.
The "Great Commission" is the mission foundation for WMU:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and , lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:19-20
Why are missions important?
The mission of God is to reconcile a lost world to Him. We are partners in this mission when we carry out Christ's Great Commission. Missions are important because God commanded us to go and tell others about HIM and HIS love for the world.
How can I get involved?
